In this letter, we present a novel approach for predicting continuous link availability between two mobile nodes. Unlike previous studies, radio irregularity is taken into account. By a rough estimation of the distance between two nodes, our approach is able to accurately predict link availability over a short period of time. Simulation results are given to verify our approach. This study can provide reliability assurance on dynamic routing, clustering and quality of services for mobile multi-hop networks.
