Abstract

The anti-jamming performance of a spectrally shaped multicarrier spread spectrum modulation scheme is investigated in this paper. The spectral shaping of the multicarrier spread spectrum signal is accomplished via the use of sinusoidal chip waveforms. As a result, the transmitted energy is transmitted via two sidebands. Specifically, one half of the energy is transmitted through a lower sideband (LSB), and the other half through an upper sideband (USB). Since the jammer can only put its energy at some portion of the whole bandwidth, these two independent sideband signals, when combined at the receiver, improve the anti-jam performance of the system. We illustrate this via comparing with conventional MC-DS-SS, and show our scheme's superior performance.
