Abstract

The U.S. Navy's Automated Digital Network System (ADNS) serves as the WAN interface that connects mobile units to the tactical network over a satellite communication link. ADNS is a key component providing transport services to mission-critical network messages. This study develops a simulation test bed to investigate the performance of ADNS Increment III. Several test scenarios were developed for this study. The performance of video and audio applications is presented. Test results suggest that QoS is required at the core routers to improve the network performance.
