Abstract

Accurate global illumination rendering using GPUs is gaining attention because of the highly parallel nature of global illumination algorithms. For example, computing the radiance of each pixel using path tracing is embarrassingly parallel. Some major commercial rendering software also started adopting global illumination on GPUs.
