This paper presents a new trust model that has integrated user-centered design philosophy, as an important role to gain users’ trust. It points out that the level of trust is finally rated by the users, not by some “trust” organizations. And it is the reason that research in ergonomics has already examined how trust is established, maintained, lost and regained in human–machine systems. After a short introduction of existing research, a new model named user-centered trust model is presented. The main process of this new model is to firstly analyze the users’ understanding of trust of a system, and then cross-compare it with the designers’ view. Finally, through well-considered interface design and other methods, to build a system that the users could feel the trust of it. The idea of this model is that the users’ trust is not only built by some new technologies, but also the features interacting with the users. The visibility of new technologies is very important in building a trusted system.
