Abstract

Quality of Service (QoS) in the communication network becomes the most important element for the implementation of new and demanding applications. This paper describes different phases of the multimedia communication, which includes QoS negotiation, translation, scaling and resource admission. The main principles of QoS architectures, with special attention paid to QoS in IP networks are given. Applications for QoS negotiation and provision of the negotiated QoS are developed and described. The experimental implementation of the QoS system for serving the users by some defined characteristics (known in advance) of the received services are described and analyzed.
