Abstract

Several non-canonic block structures of IIR digital filters are analyzed for numerical performance. It is shiown that the output noise due to addit, ional noise sources in these structures cancels out most of the gain obtained from blocking algorithms, and may dominate that due to state variables in canonic structures.
