Abstract

Useful approximations to the responses of discrete linear systems and certain discrete nonlinear systems are developed for input complex AM-FM signals of the form s(m) = a(m) exp [jφ(m)]. These are used to derive limits on simple AM-FM demodulation mechanisms related to the Teager-Kaiser operatar.
