There are sampling strategies for multidimensional signals where the output of the subsampler is not a sublattice of the input lattice but is a union of the cosets of a sublattice. One example of such sampling grids is the line-quincunx subsampling which is used in some of the HDTV coding proposals. In this paper, we show a method to analyze multirate systems with this type of sampling strategy. To this end, we generalize sub/up-sampling operations and derive perfect reconstruction conditions for tow-band subband decomposition.
