Abstract

Multicarrier CDMA is being proposed as a predominant candidate for future generation wireless mobile communication. One of the major drawbacks of a CDMA system coupled with multicarrier modulation is high value of PAPR due to multicarrier transmission. This PAPR can be effectively controlled through proper selection of a spreading code. The objective of this paper is to perform an exhaustive evaluation and comparison of PAPR for various types of orthogonal spreading codes i.e. Walsh Hadamard codes, Golay Complementary codes, Orthogonal Gold codes and non-orthogonal Gold codes.
