Abstract

The main objective of speech compression is to reduce the bite rate of the speech for transmission or storage without significant loss of quality. Now a days the new technique called wavelet transform is being used for signal analysis. The major issues regarding the design of wavelet based speech coder are choosing optimal wavelets for compression, and selecting suitable frame size. The performance of the different wavelets compression schemes on male and female speech are compared and analyzed, based on different parameters.
