Abstract

This article presents a very successful technique for reducing the energy consumption and increasing lifetime of wireless sensor networks. To evaluate the efficiency of the proposed Adaptive Scheduling Algorithm in term of network lifetime, we built up a scenario containing network topology, synchronization techniques, energy model and management of data transmission and scheduling. For the same wireless sensor network model, the simulation results confirm an important increase in network lifetime in the case of applying the Adaptive Scheduling Algorithm compared to the network lifetime in the case of a Non-Adaptive Scheduling model.
