Abstract

In this paper we propose a framework for using self-organizing networks for agent based intrusion detection system. A specific feature of this model is that the agent uses self organizing algorithm for pattern classification from security logs and self organizing maps for visualization. We have developed a prototype for this framework. This paper discusses also the issues of combining intelligent agent technology with the self-organizing networks for intrusion detection.
