Abstract

This paper presents and documents the project entitled "Smart hospital using RFID and ZigBee technology". The project is mainly focused on developing a patient management system specifically tailored to the operation of hospitals in India. This project aims to manage and organize a patient's information and diagnosis in a hospital. This patient management system is implemented by integrating two radio frequency technologies namely the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) and the ZigBee. The RFID module is a technology used to help identify, authenticate, track, and trace objects and people, and to gather and store information about them and their environment. The data coming to and from the modules are transmitted through ZigBee, to a central workstation where the software application is installed.
