Welcome to the SCCG 2009 conference, April 23--25, 2009, Budmerice castle, and welcome to the 25th anniversary of SCCG! The aim of the Spring Conference on Computer Graphics (SCCG), i.e., the oldest regular annual meeting related to computer graphics in Central Europe, is to bring together top experts in the field with young researchers and students in computer graphics and to support a good communication channel for East--West exchange of prospective ideas. Also this year, the conference is preceded by the international student seminar called Central European Seminar on Computer Graphics (CESCG). After sorting out several submissions due to administrative reject decisions (or because they were withdrawn by the authors), 34 papers were reviewed by members of the International Program Committee (IPC), who delivered 140 reviews all in all. Due to good to excellent reviews, 25 papers from authors from 12 different countries were accepted for presentation at SCCG 2009. The accepted papers address real-time computer graphics, visualization, global illumination, GPU-based approaches, simulation, animation, geometry, VR/MR/AR, modeling, parallelization, perception, et cetera.
