Abstract

An object tracking algorithm is presented which is particularly fast, computationally simple, and works well with both simple and complex object shapes. It is highly modular and easily adaptable to various applications. It is based on chromatic modulation methods and takes into account non-uniform illumination and external light fluctuations. The tracking ability of the proposed algorithm was tested with a CCD-based remote monitoring system in a clinical environment.
