Abstract

One of the main objectives in the study of performance prediction is to give researchers the option to select from a variety of distributed systems/resources based on what would optimise the performance of the application. This paper introduces an optimization scheme for modelling and predicting the efficiency of an application execution when run in a distributed environment. The results obtained from this research show that the suggested modelling and prediction technique can provide the same quality of information as a measurement process for application optimization, but in a fraction of the time.
