Today, we are witnessing a new level of scale, complexity, and pervasiveness of software systems that are designed to support much more holistically complex processes. Much richer information is becoming available for processing, including raw data, proven facts and people's opinions. A multitude of interesting analytics methods is being developed to extract new knowledge from this plethora of data. In this paper, we examine some opportunities for smart service delivery that arise from the integration of sensor networks, service-oriented middleware and virtual worlds.
