Abstract

The mission for warship to perform requires very high reliability which is related to the condition of support resources. This paper presents a discrete-event simulation model for estimating the reliability of the mission for warship. Within the model, written in ExtendSim, mission performing, failure occurrence and maintenance process are modeled. The military planner can assess mission reliability and study variations and sensitivities in a controlled manner among different support resources constraints by the simulation model. This helps to improve mission reliability through proper allocation of support resources.
