Abstract

In this demo we present an approach for the evolution of complex event patterns based on real-time pattern execution statistics. Complex event patterns encode the knowledge about a situation of interest which must be detected and reported. Therefore complex event patterns are considered as one of the most valuable assets in Complex Event Processing. The quality, meaning the accuracy of modelling with regard to the situation of interest, of the detection increases and decreases with the quality of the defined complex event patterns. In order to guarantee the quality of a complex event pattern we describe the importance of the transparent detection process, its necessity for the complex event pattern evolution and present an approach in order to support the evolution of complex event patterns.
