Abstract

A two-stage image preprocessing algorithm, which makes it possible to recover digital halftone images (DHT) at low signal/noise ratios using the power at the first stage, and to detect the edges of objects of interest at the second stage, is considered. The method is based on the representation of DHT by the two-dimensional Markov process.
