Abstract

Comparative study of 23 image sharpness characteristics was carried out and their quality for the task of automated microscopic analysis of cytological preparations was defined. It was established that sharpness characteristics "Sum of squared Gaussian derivatives" and "Bayes-spectral-entropy-based focus measure" manifest the best performance for images with different scales.
