Business interaction is a significant aspect of intelligent workflow systems, which are envisaged to deal with dynamic and interorganisational environments. However, automating business interaction in an intelligent way is not an easy task. To address this issue, this paper presents an ontological approach for modelling business interaction. The developed meta-model can support the process of automating business interaction, as well as assist its automated analysis. The ontology's development is described and its application is demonstrated through an example use case.
