Abstract

This paper focuses on the problem of limited personal development, or even social isolation, as a result of poor knowledge and weaknesses in the use of language. So far, Computer-Assisted Language Learning (CALL) is the most significant method of language self-teaching. However, CALL lessons are fixed and students should assess themselves and select their own learning process. We propose a methodology for the development of tools for automated assessment of language knowledge and skills, as well as, the development of CALL tools for the confrontation of the weaknesses detected, through personalized e-Lessons. Although, the methodology presented is general, our focus is on the Greek language.
