Vistas, a generalisation of the object capability concept, are presented which provide a scalable, distributed means for specifying and controlling the interaction rights that entities have in open distributed systems such as the Cloud. The operations for combining Vistas and examples of their use are discussed. Finally, a natural development of vistas to full behavioural control is outlined.
