Abstract

This paper aims at improving the re-implementation of existing information systems when they are reused in a system of systems, i.e. a federation of enterprise information systems that interoperate. The idea is adapting the local experiences, coming from the development of the original information system, to be part of a HLA process, thanks to Model Discovery and Ontological approach. This paper will propose a new bi-directional development life cycle. In the first way, MDA (Model Driven Architecture) and HLA FEDEP (Federation Development and Execution Process) will be harmonized to implement distributed information systems from enterprise models. Conversely, model discovery will be used to help re-implement existing systems, in order to be interoperable without being fully reconstructed. Then, according to HLA 1516 evolved new features, this paper will propose a solution based on an open source RTI, PORTICO, to implement web enable federates.
