Abstract

We present in this paper a model-oriented approach, Active Knowledge Modeling (AKM) to provide flexible support to emergency mitigation. A case study has been performed on the approach. Although the case was performed in a restricted environment, the feedback from the participants was promising as for the expected needs of flexibility in the process that an AKM solution allows. Further work has to be done, both over a longer term following more of the emergency management process, and following other cases in other settings to support the utility of the approach.
