Abstract

The goal of the project is the analysis of a communication network based on real data obtained by Network Management Control supervisory center and set up a useful tool for effective solving of network modernization problems. The data has been collected continuously since 2005. With regard to the nature and amount of the data, data mining methods were selected for the purpose of analyses and experiments. The aim of the paper is to identify the role of long-term trends in the monitored network parameters. Knowledge of the trend will allow us more precise predictions of the future network traffic and also help us better determine the dimensioning of the network to both the future projected growth in volume of transmitted information, and in time the increased of demands in the network, caused by irregular activities of network users
