Abstract

Digital ecosystems have been implemented and studied in many different domains, including open source software development environments, museums, as support systems for special populations, and as supportive learning environments. One domain which has received only passing attention is the value of digital ecosystems to the development of intellectual capital. Digital Ecosystems provide a critical habitat in which knowledge ecosystems and intellectual capital may flourish in the 21st century knowledge economy. This poster session considers how digital ecosystems influence the growth and adaptability of knowledge ecosystems, particularly at the level of individual members of a species.
