Abstract

We present parallel algorithms based on biorthogonal wavelet transforms(BWTs). We have constructed processing elements(PEs) for the one-dimensional(1-D) and two-dimensional(2-D) reconstruction filter masks to minimize computational operations. The proposed architectures are efficient, scalable for dyadic filters of BWT. They may be applied to the implementation of codec in various image and video processing standards such as JPEG 2000 and MPEG-4.
