Abstract

In this investigation, we propose a new mechanism for looking up files in Peer-to-Peer over internet environment so that we can look up files in a location-transparent manner. To do that, we introduce hierarchical Bloom filters to local file structures which allow us to query full/part of the structures. We show some experimental system with major features of JXTA where we put attentions on serverless and multi-casting communication, and we examine empirical results on the system.
