Keyword-based search has been popularized by Web search services. However, due to the problems associated with polysemy and synonym, users are often unable to get the exact information they are looking for. In this paper, we propose a web search framework in which ontologies and rules are used to deal with the synonym and polysemy problem to gain a better recall and precision performence than the traditional search services. A demonstration system based on Google's web search APIs is currently under implementation.
