Vast amount of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) information has been generated across the Web nowadays. Semantic Web opens a promising opportunity for us to share Web TCM information by standardizing the protocols for metadata exchange. To fulfill its long-term goal, we need to build universal and intelligent clients for end-users to retrieve and manage useful information based on semantics and services. In this paper, we propose a set of design principles for such an intelligent information client and describe a novel semantics-based information browser, Semantic Browser, to resolve the problem of sharing and managing large-scale information towards data-intensive fields like TCM.
