Abstract

We are developing "Global Studio", a remote collaboration environment enabling users to comunicate and collaborate between remote locations. In our environment, even users with no technical skills can easily establish effective collaboration environment, manage AV equipments with easy wiring system and control interface for AV equipments accessing to the network. Media equipment management together with high resolution video streaming are necessary to construct our collaboration environment. However, establishment of easy AV wiring operation, effective media equipment configuration and stable high resolution video streaming are difficult because of physical configuration, management, user and network restrictions. In this research, we design and implement easy access and configuration mechanism of high resolution video conference allowing effective and efficient remote collaboration. The results of evaluation demonstrates effective remote collaboration environment at end point using Gigabit Ethernet.
