Structured materials always have an iteration in various regions and the spatial relations of them are distinguished. Fractal theory provides a powerful mathematical tool for detecting the iteration for each structure of material. In this report, we proposed a technique for detecting structured materials based on searching a fractal kernel of Iterated Function System(IFS) of the materials. The experimental results demonstrated that the proposed technique can effectively detect structured materials such as woods and carpets.
