A method for evaluation of parasitic frequency modulation (wow) in archival audio is presented. The proposed approach utilizes sinusoidal components tracking as their variations correspond with the wow defect. The sinusoidal modeling procedures are used to extract the tonal components from severely distorted and significantly modulated audio signals.
