Abstract

IT-based knowledge management is often considered under the aspect of information storage and retrieval only. Although the theory of organizational knowledge management reflects on the description of communication structures and communication events between partners, the support of the users by information technology systems does not meet the expectations at all. This contribution describes an approach and a software implementation that uses digital communication structures, which result from the use of new forms of communication infrastructures, to facilitate an easier access to relevant information that can be qualified by identification with the knowledge creator.
