Abstract

Having analyzed the inadequateness of existing test technique and requirements of concurrent testing for routers, this paper presents a framework of distributed Concurrent Multi-Port Router Test System under development at Sichuan Network Communication Key Laboratory. Based on the system, its core components – Concurrent Multi-Port Test Manager (CMPTM) and Two-Port Tester (TPT) including their architectures, functional components, message format for communication between CMPTM and TPT-s are discussed in some detail. Moreover, its test case support tools are also discussed in detail and based on shortages of TTCN3 in describing multi-port test, the paper introduces a new test definition language – the Concurrent Multi-Port Test Definition Language (CMPT-TDL).
