Abstract

Co-word analysis is a bibliometric technique used to create atlas of science and related issues. Based on the co-occurrence frequency of pairs of words or phrases, co-word analysis is used to discover linkages among subjects in a research field and thus to trace the development of science. The aim of this study is to visualization the subject structure of the field of international management science during the period of 2002-2006. Co-word analysis was employed to reveal patterns and trends in the international management science field by measuring the association strengths of terms representative of relevant publications. Data were collected from selected 52 kinds of international journal papers collected from Social Science Citation Index (SSCI). In addition to the keywords added by SSCI databases. Observe the co-word try to distinguish its dynamic development and evolution, and with the help of discipline knowledge to explain these information, mine the knowledge mode of its research field. The results show that the international management science field has some established research themes and it also changes rapidly to embrace new themes.
