Abstract

In this paper, we describe a service-oriented middleware architecture based on OGSA-DAI which integrates heterogeneous database distributed in different electronic patient record (EPR) system. OGSA-DAI provides uniform access to heterogeneous databases that have heterogeneous DBMSs by web service. We solve data heterogeneity on information expressed by specifying the criteria of information description and then mapping physical data to a virtual table. Users retrieve data from virtual table by SQL query.
