While demand for large-scale storage services is growing very rapidly, RAID is still today's standard solution for enterprise class storage systems. The software and hardware designing of a RAID controller based on Intel IQ80321 platform is introduced, in which embedded Linux is setup on the board, and a prototype system is implemented on x86 platform with Fibre Channel interface to host. The benchmark test presents throughput of 186MB/s and 184MB/s for RAID 5 reading and writing respectively.
