Abstract

Network-based systems are widely used in many application areas such as intelligent systems and distributed systems. To design distributed systems, distributed information processing and intelligent terminals are required. This paper deals with the design considerations and implementations of a distributed system using network architecture. Network nodes, called smart nodes, are designed for supporting the CAN(controller area network) protocol and a new message scheduling method is proposed in order to transfer data between these nodes. An experimental setup is built to perform velocity control of four DC-Motor subsystems. The experimental results verify that the proposed distributed system provides an acceptable control performance.
