Abstract

Grid-Ireland is unusual in its integrated infrastructure, and the stress that is laid on homogeneity of its core. The major benefit is the decoupling of site details from the core infrastructure, and the resulting freedom for heterogeneity of site resources. We describe the efforts to support this heterogeneity in a systematic way. We also describe the deployment architecture and a methodology to increase the availability of the core infrastructure.
