Abstract

As Moore’s Law predicates, the number of transistors on die will continue increase on die in future. It will be a big challenge for computer industry to effectively and e.ciently use these transistors and optimize the microprocessor design under power envelop. Performance is not the only concern. The other design goals such as user friendly interface, easy for maintenance, security and reliability, will become more and more important. There is a clear trend in computer industry that more and more chip will implement multi-core on die.
