Abstract

In connection with structuring and sharing of knowledge in a form of ontologies the question of their assets evaluation occurs. This paper presents the methodology of asset evaluation of individual instances in ontology based on standard of Topic Maps. The evaluation comes out of weights assignment to instances and associations in ontology and total weight calculation for individual instance and its surroundings. Searching results can be ranked according to this total weight expressing information asset of individual instance.
