Abstract

We developed a computational tool, DigitalTree, for displaying a two-dimensional weighted tree of biological data. Existing methods, Radial Layout, Hyperbolic Layout, Phyllotactic Placement, and Force-Directing were integrated into DigitalTree. DigitalTree preserves the distances between nodes in the tree and the trees topology. The tool has been applied in analyzing microarray data and phylogenetic trees. DigitalTree is available for download at http://digbio.missouri.edu/~digtree.
