Abstract

The problem of managing imprecise and vague information has been a research problem for computer scientists, especially in the area of temporal relational databases and artificial intelligence. There are many research proposals to solve this problem and the most widely used approach is the fuzzy set theory. In contrast rough set theory is relatively new approach that has been derived through study of information and data tables. In this paper we summarize the fundamental concepts related to fuzzy and rough set theory and their application in temporal database model as well as present a conceptual model of fuzzy rough temporal data processing with illustration.
