In this paper we concentrate on developing the formal methods and techniques necessary to model and evaluate situations in the Wireless Sensor Network (WSN). We present results of the research on choices in distributed, complex systems like WSN. In general, three types of choices are analyzed; the choice of appropriate mathematical abstraction as tool capable to manage the WSN communication activity, the choice of mathematical abstraction as tool capable to manage the WSN communication structure and the local --- global dilemma.
