This paper presents a methodology for the precise extraction of the optic disc in retinal images. We propose a methodology that combines an enhancement algorithm, a fast location methodology and, finally, a segmentation technique to fit the optic disc boundaries. At each stage, we analyze several techniques and we present the results obtained in a public image data set.
