Abstract

A smart space can be any of our living environments which enrich our lives by relevant services and applications. With the help of context the smart space application can react to current situations or be proactive and take into account the coming circumstances. This paper describes the ongoing research how context-awareness is enabled for heterogeneous smart space applications. We report the results achieved i) of using context-aware agents for defining personalized views of shared information, ii) of a novel context-aware micro-architecture, and iii) of a new context ontology for the smart spaces, CO4SS. Finally, we aim to confirm that the context-aware micro-architecture (CAMA) with the CO4SS ontology is adaptable for multitude of smart space applications being based on different architecture styles.
